Provenance |
Painted by Flo Campbell (Florence May Campbell, neé Johnson) before 1949. After Charlotte (Lottie) Henderson died, after 25 years of teaching school at S.S.#2 Derby (Dunn's School), the painting was acquired to create a memorial for her. Horace V. Vick of Owen Sound apparently did the engraving for the memorial plaque on the frame. It was displayed at S.S.#2 Derby by the date of Nov. 27, 1949. After S.S.#2 closed, the painting was hung in 1966 at Derby Central School at Kilsyth, Grey County. The school (later known as Derby Public School) was the last owner, and closed in 2016. |
