Thin rabbet plane. One hole in the end for hanging it up on a nail. The plane still has its wooden wedge and cutting iron. |

Rabbet planes are used to rabbet out a cut in the side of a board so that they may be overlapped and joined. This was the popular way of joining before milled tongue-and-groove. |
