Woman's silver key wind watch, c1850, with gold-coloured metal spiral chain closed via an old-fashioned type safety pin. Key is silver and gold coloured with a six-sided star on one side and a 3 on the other. Watch face is white and open with black Roman numerals and blue metallic (blued steel) hands. Back has a central vertical oval with a floral design all the way around it and slightly open at the top (horseshoe shaped). The safety pin was likely added to the watch at a later date. No maker's name is seen on the exterior. |
