Description |
This is a Victorian glazed white ceramic "Gold Tea Leaf" tea plate. There is a gilt line delineating the smooth central area from the moulded (ridge) border, and another one at the rim edge. Centrally, there is a gold tea leaf motif present. This plate is from a set. |
Provenance |
Part of a set that belonged to one of Hazel Mannings's grandmothers, possibly Mary Jane Cole of England. Last owned/used by Hazel Manning of Owen Sound, Grey County. Her parents, James and Helena Manning, moved their family to Owen Sound in the early 20th-century when Hazel was young. Hazel was born in 1904 and died in 1996. |
