Description |
Wood framed polyester screen printing mesh with the reproduction of Tom Thomson's Jack Pine painting done by George Yost. The mesh is attached to the wood frame with white electrical tape. This screen is for the Leith Day t-shirt. Around the image of the Jack Pine around the four sides it reads (from top going clockwise) "LEITH DAY - AUGUST 3, 1992 / TOM THOSON'S 115th BIRTHDAY / SYDENHAM HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE TOM THOMSON MEMORIAL ART GALLERY / DESIGNATION of/the LEITH UNITED CHURCH". |

Made by George Yost (1929-2016) was an architect, artist, and writer. George and his wife Katherine Lochnan purchased the (century) Fraser Farm in Balaclava, Grey County in 1987. Not long after purchasing the Fraser Farm, George became involved with the Leith United Church, volunteering his time and talents to restore the church. He developed the screen print for use on t-shirts and posters to support fundraising initiatives. Last owned by Katherine Lochnan. |
