Description |
Hand-made, painted wooden crest showing the insignia of the General and Marine Hospital School of Nursing. This crest was designed in 1961 by Bill Parrott, an Owen Sound highschool art teacher at the OSCVI. The scroll areas have "OWEN SOUND / SCHOOL OF NURSING / DISCIMVS VT SERVIMVS" (Latin for "We Learn That We May Serve"). The top motif is a lantern light. Then there is a nurse's cap, with a single black band. Below this is an ancient-looking lamp (to represent the lamp of learning). Notes are hand printed on the back. |
