Description |
White nurse's cap with a black velvet band. It was personalized with "AIM" [Audrey Isabel Matches]. It is made of plasticized cloth and secured by two shiny white plastic fasteners, which are secured by silvertone split pins. There is also a grey-finished hairpin secured to the interior. |

Provenance |
Manufacturer unknown. Likely dates to the late 20th-century. Belonged to Audrey Isabell Matches (1929 - 2010). She trained as a nurse at the Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital, and graduated in 1951. She did post-graduate work in British Columbia. She worked for a long time at the General and Marine Hospital, and subsequently at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre. Audrey Matches was an Operating Room nurse and retired in 1988. She died on August 15, 2010. The Matches family burials are in Hillcrest Cemetery, in Tara, Bruce County. |
