Description |
Small wooden and hinged case, containing a man's cigar holder . The stem is made of wood and with glazed coating (light and dark brown) with an amber bit (mouthpiece) attached along with a silvertone ferrule. The case is made of wood in the shape of a finger with one curved end and one straight end. A metal clasp holds it closed. The interior of the case is lined with red velvet. There is an ornate gold stamp consisting of 2 winged griffins (?) on either side of a crest printed inside the top of the case. |

This item is likely from the 19th-century. May have belonged to Henry Rixon, or his father-in-law, Adam Ainslie, who resided with the Rixon family in the late 19th-century. Last owned by Eleanor Rixon. |
