Man's long, brown "Musk-ox Brand" hide coat made by Boulter, Waugh & Co. of Montreal. See RELATED for matching gaunlet-type mittens. The coat has black-coloured toggles and cord loops for its closure. |

Likely belonged to Lorne Snider or Frank Johnson as the "Musk-Ox" brand of the Boulter, Waugh & Co. was used in circa 1909-1915 fur catalogues by the company. Boulter, Waugh & Co. was located in Montreal. Subsequently owned by Frank Johnson's son, Wilson Johnson, who drove a horse team and sleigh in the wintertime to collect cream from farmers. There is a photograph of his team in the Grey Roots archives. Last owned by Frank's wife, Muriel Johnson (neé Snider). |
