Description |
White crochet and openwork lace trim with short sleeves (armholes). Probably meant for a bed jacket or bodice that was never finished. The ribbon runs through the lace, and is also formed into a couple of bows. |
Provenance |
The lace trim for a woman's nightgown belonged either to Elizabeth McLean (nee Blyth(e)), or one of her daughters. They resided at Owen Sound, Ontario. Mrs. McLean died in 1921. She was born in 1838 in Cincinnati, and came to Owen Sound in the 1840s with her family. She married John McLean and their home is now known as 1663 5th Ave. East, Owen Sound. |
