Description |
Cork-stoppered PARKER & CO. bottle for "Oil of Eucalyptus". The bottle is tall and thin, now empty of liquid (just has a darkish residue at the bottom interior) and has a form-printed brown paper label. The "Oil of Eucalyptus" identification is penned on a top line in ink. The back of the bottle, on the glass, has gradation marks showing how much liquid remains in the bottle--its full capacity was three and a half ounces. |
Makers mark |
Pharmacy label is printed with a "P" and "Co." intertwined logo = Parker & Co. |
Provenance |
Unknown glassmaker (Owen Sound did not have a bottle glass factory). Used by Parker & Co., an Owen Sound drug store that was established in the 1850s. This appears to be an early 20th-century bottle. Previously belonged to Whitford A. Harris of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
