Description |
This is a covered, glazed ceramic dish, from the 19th-century (perhaps 1860s?). The lift handle for the cover has a triangular shape to it. Gilt striping is present on the handles. The bowl has low feet, and two end handles. Its top and cover have a rectangular shape. The pattern name not known yet. It has a white background, with orange and pink and green floral patterning. Original provenance unknown, however, there was a notation that the plates were "over 100 years old" in 1967. Last owned by Edna Howey of Owen Sound and Toronto. The Howey family originally resided in Holland Township, Grey County in the 19th-century. |
