Description |
Ceramic vase with a Dutch windmill motif. The vase's background is white, with the motifs in Delft blue. It has a hexagonal base and lip. "Delft's Bleue / Handpainted / Holland" is transfer-printed in blue on the underside. In addition to the windmill motif, there are three matching blue-painted motifs (one per panel of the lower vase). The upper area of the vase is slightly fluted and has a horizontal blue line around the top, as well as several blue, linear cluster marks on the exterior for decoration. There is also a horizontal blue line defining the bottom edge. |

Provenance |
Manufacturer unknown, but made in the Netherlands. Dates to the 20th-century. Belonged to Mary Winch (née Foulds), whose husband was Walter Winch. Circa 1949, they farmed in Holland Township, Grey County. They later resided at 734, 9th Street A. East, Owen Sound, Grey County. It was found among other items in their Estate. |
