Provenance |
The Eagle's head trademark was used by the Meriden Company after the McKinley Act of 1891, so this item likely is from the 1890s. Manufactured by the Forbes Silver Co. (of Toronto), which was connected to the Meriden company. Used at St. Matthew's Anglican Church at Bognor, Sydenham Township, Grey County. St. Matthew's was built in 1901, and closed in September of 1981. The previous owner, Eugene and Viola Thomson, formerly lived at Bognor and were members of the congregation. |
