The 1159 address was formerly 105 Bay St., prior to 1909. The Misses Spragge (Doris & Marjorie) were daughters of J. George Spragge and May Barnhart Spragge of Owen Sound, Grey County. Doris Spragge died on May 3, 1967, and Marjorie Spragge died on Oct. 14, 1977. Their father was a son of John Crooke Spragge. The Spragges had moved to Owen Sound in the 1850s from Toronto. They were a prominent family in the town, and John Crooke Spragge had served as County Auditor. |
