Description |
Child's pair of tall, copper-toed (or brass-toed) boots made of dark, tanned leather. The tops have two leather pull straps. The front of the boot top is higher than the rest of the boot top. There is a vertical seam on both sides. There is also a heel seam. "12" is impressed on the sole. There are numerous shoe nail heads visible on the sole and a 3 cm high heel. There is a narrow brass or copper toe. |

The previous owner, Guy Hewitson, did not provide any information about the provenance of this item. He was a harnessmaker, who used to occasionally demonstrate at the County of Grey-Owen Sound Museum in Owen Sound, Ontario. He was born c. 1896 and died in 1978. There is an image of him in the book, BEAUTIFUL STONEY KEPPEL, 1986, p. 172. |
