Description |
This is a child-sized pale blue cotton parasol (or a perambulator sunshade?). There is pale bluish-white cotton fabric with a floral design insert in the middle (approx. 6 to 8 cm wide). There is large scalloped edging, and seven black-finished metal spokes. The tip is 10 cm long. The end of the handle is grooved, as if that part inserted into a handle (which is missing) or perhaps into a carriage socket--not much room to hold on to. On the inside at the top where the spokes meet is a sticker stuck to the material with "31" on it and a square box (both in red). There is a straight wooden shank (one-piece style one). |
Provenance |
Unknown. May have belonged to the George Hindman family of Owen Sound, Grey County. Last owned by his daughter, Helen Evans (neé Hindman) of Owen Sound. |
