Description |
Commemorative white ceramic plate with "Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Desboro, Ontario / September 2, 1984" in black text along the top in the centre. Below this is a circle with a blue interior, a white flower shape, a red heart and a black cross within it. Below this are two illustrations of the interior of two churches. The left one is titled "St. John's Lutheran Church / Desboro / 1896-1984" and the other is "St. Paul's Lutheran Church / Marmion / 1921-1984". The plate has a scalloped edge and is edged in gold. On the back is a stamp of a maple leaf with "Decorated in Canada" in a banner across it. Below the maple leaf with "22 K Gold / Can. Art China / Collingwood, Ont." |

Made before or in 1984 and decorated by the Candian Art China Company in Collingwood, Ontario, for the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Desboro and the St. Paul's Lutheran Chruch of Marmion, Grey County. It may have been made by the churches to sell as a fundraiser. Last owned by Lauretta Wright of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
