Ink stamping device. The stamper has a black-finished turned wooden grip to it, and a plated metal frame. |
Provenance |
Patented on April 7, 1885. Used at King's Royal Hotel between 1903 and 1914. The hotel was located at Balmy Beach, and its guests would travel there via a small steamer ferry from Owen Sound, Grey County. Owned by Joseph Kent McLauchlan, a businessman who had established the Georgian Bay Summer Resort Company, and the King's Royal Hotel building at Balmy Beach, near Owen Sound. Inherited by Gayle McLauchlan. |
