Provenance |
This item is from a set that was manufactured at the H.R. Ives foundry at Montreal, Quebec. It eventually belonged to an Owen Sound, Grey County family, the Mortons. Circa 1901, two of the female members of the family, Hannah Jane Morton and Lizzie Morton, worked as laundresses. It may also have been used by their mother, Lucy Morton. The set later belonged to their brother, Hawtin (Ottie) Morton, and likely was used by his wife, Eva A. Morton (nee Burrows). Then it was inherited by Ottie and Eva's daughter, Neletia Pederson (neé Morton). Neletia lived in Owen Sound, and had grown up in the Mudtown area of the city. |
