Description |
The gate's two halves have a tubular metal frame. There is a diagonal wire at the back of each half. The top has decorative metal scroll work. The right side has a flat, scrolled-top metal vertical spring present. The gate has remnants of a green-painted finish. It was built using sqaure nuts. Inside the tubular frame are decorative, looped and twisted wire walls. The back side also has horizontal reinforcement wires (up near the top). B. Clevis-like piece that matches the one still attached to the gate. C. Piece of metal with three intentional holes and a purpose bend to it. It has a piece of wire strung through one of the holes. D. 7-inch, L-shaped threaded screw item. E. 7-inch, L-shaped threaded screw item that matches the above one. |

Manufacturer unknown. Post-dates 1915. This item is part of a fence which enclosed McNeil's Cemetery, in Priceville, Grey County. The cemetery opened in 1915, and had the same gate until 2009. |
