Description |
A hat brush, that advertises DUCKWORTH'S HATS, and is a pre-1909 item. It is a wooden-handled brush used for removing lint from hats. It has natural bristles set into the wood. There are 18 rows of bristles (each bristle is about 2 cm long). Some of the bristles are dyed black, the others are left natural. The top side of the brush is flat and is printed with "WEAR DUCKWORTH'S HATS, 25 POULETT ST." |

Unknown maker. Found among the estate items of Whitford A. Harris, of Owen Sound, Grey County. Likely was first used by his father, William David Harris. The item advertises a hat shop that was situated at 25 Poulett St., Owen Sound. In 1909, Owen Sound renamed its streets, and Poulett St. became 2nd Ave. East (main street). |
