Description |
Glazed ceramic (white porcelain) souvenir "map" plate, decorated with a black, grey, brown-printed map of Owen Sound. It provides the pre-1909 street names. It also has several former architectural landmarks labelled, with an illustration showing the basic shape of the historic buildings. The plate has a plain, 22-karat gold border. |

Provenance |
Manufactured by Canadian Art China Limited, in Collingwood, Simcoe County. Likely dates to the 1980s. The pottery was established in 1953, and was still in operation in 2008. This item was found among a number of Owen Sound souvenirs collected in Owen Sound's City Hall building. Some were kept by committees, while others were donated by citizens. |
