Function |
A keg used to ship and store a quantity of hardware. This one is stenciled with the name of Christie Bros., a main street Owen Sound hardware store. Before unit packaging for hardware became prevalent, hardware items were sold by weight. Often a "nail keg" would be kept in the store area, near a weigh scale. |
