Provenance |
Manufactured likely prior to 1900 by the Scott brickyard at Meaford, Grey County. It was salvaged from a building (not known now which one). James Marcellus Scott, and his brother, John Scott, began a brickyard there c. 1878. It is unknown in which structure the brick was used, or when it was salvaged. Collected by the Stanley Knight Heritage Society, and kept at the Stanley Knight Ltd. factory building at 226 Boucher Street East, Meaford, until 2015. It is one of three Scott bricks that were collected by the Stanley Knight Heritage Society. |
