A round, blue, white red and green enamelled brass screw post lapel pin with JUNIOR FARMER ONTARIO, and its screw-on round fastener. The design has a shield shape centrally, flanked by two red stars. The maker's mark on the back side is BAILEY. This pin belonged to Robert (Bob) Hewitson of Sydenham Township. |

He was involved in the Balaclava Junior Farmers group (c. 1939) and had taken a course in Agriculture on Dec. 18, 1936 (held at the Johnstone Church). He also was President of The Sydenham & St. Vincent Young Farmers group that was established in 1959. Bob also was President of the Sydenham Federation of Agriculture (1953-1954). He also served as Reeve of Sydenham Township from 1978-1982. Last owned by Robert Hewitson and his wife Myrna Hewitson of Annan, Grey County. |
