Glass factory for Taylor & Pringle |
Made |
Taylor & Pringle Ltd. |
Place of Origin |
Unknown |
Description |
One opaque glass Taylor & Pringle soda pop bottle. The "T&P" molded mark on the underside is the glass factory's pattern reference, as Taylor & Pringle did not make bottles, just filled them. The company was started in the 1880s by William Taylor and was still very busy circa 1911. |
Makers mark |
T&P (molded mark used by a glass factory to let them know this is the Taylor & Pringle pattern) |
Provenance |
Made for Taylor & Pringle of Owen Sound, Grey County. Owen Sound did not have a bottle glass factory, so Taylor & Pringle would have had their bottles custom-ordered from a glass factory located elsewhere. Note that John Corbett Pringle died in 1911, so it likely was before this date. Provenance unknown. Likely found at a Grey County dump site location by William Galbraith of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
