Description |
Pince-nez eyeglasses with SHURON impressed inside the gold bridge. The clear glass lenses are round. The bridge has a delicate pattern, and there were originally nose clip pads (one is missing now). |

Dispensed from the W. J. Shortill Jewellery and Optician business of Markdale, Grey County. William J. Shortill was a watchmaker, jeweller and optician. He also was an inventor of a circular revolving window display stand.The item belonged to Jacqueline Florence Theresa Beaty / Beatty, who married Clifford Glenn McGee. Jacqueline was b. 1906 in Artemesia Township. She and Glenn were married at Markdale in the 1920s, and later farmed along Highway 10. Last owned by her grandson, Robert Alton of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
