Manufactured by Lear Developments Inc. in the United States. It belonged to the Bishop family of Owen Sound, Grey County. One of Bishop family became very famous during the First World War as a Canadian flying ace--Wm. Avery "Billy" Bishop. After the war, Bishop continued to be interested in aircraft and during the Second World War, he was made an Air Marshal and did a lot of recruitment work for the war effort. His sister, Mrs. Louise MacKay, later resided in the Bishop family home at Owen Sound. The radio was passed down to her son, Fred MacKay Jr. |
