Description |
A woman's hand-made and finely-crocheted white collar. It has a squarish opening, with one straight edge lobe, and three pointed ones. It was originally basted onto a piece of robin's egg blue tissue paper as a display ground. |
Provenance |
Hand-made by Ethel May Atkinson (wife of Alexander Sutherland), who lived at RR#1 Holland Centre, in Holland Township, Grey County (now known as the Township of Chatsworth). It won a First Prize at a local fair (year unknown). Ethel and her husband farmed at Concession 8, at the south half of Lot 6, East of the Garafraxa Road, in Holland Township. Inherited by/last owned by one of Ethel's daughters, Agnes Bumstead (née Sutherland) of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
