Description |
This is a patterned celery dish.It is an oblong, glazed ceramic serving dish / tray. It has a light blue background with multiple chintz-like transfer-printed pictures of multi-coloured fruit and flowers. It has slightly scalloped edges, and gold edge trim. There are two voids to provide self handles. The underside has a subtle "896" mold number impress-moulded under the glaze. There is no other maker's mark. |

Original provenance unknown. Last owned by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson & Muriel Johnson (née Snider) of Sydenham Township, Grey County. Her grandfather was Wellington Snider. Her father was Lorne Snider. They farmed in Sydenham Township. |
