Description |
Student nurse's white, starchy cloth cap. It lacks the usual black band, which was obtained upon graduation. Its fasteners are missing. It has two ink markings of "A.I.M." No maker's identification observed. This type of cap fastened with detachable buttons. |

Provenance |
Manufacturer unknown. Dates to between 1949 and 1951. Belonged to Audrey Isabell Matches (1929 - 2010). She trained as a nurse at the Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital, and graduated in 1951. She did post-graduate work in British Columbia. She worked for a long time at the General and Marine Hospital, and subsequently at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre. Audrey Matches was an Operating Room nurse and retired in 1988. She died on August 15, 2010. The Matches family burials are in Hillcrest Cemetery, in Tara, Bruce County. |
