Description |
A cast iron stationary pedalled exercising machine, from the late 19th-century. This is a very heavy cast iron metal item. The casted lettering says "BUFFALO / HOME TRAINER / PAT'D JAN 19.86" [1886] The lettering is present on the two wheel areas. The round base has four holes for bolting it securely to the floor for stability. There is a metal seat (shaped like a bicycle saddle). There are two handle grips, and two metal foot pedals. "456" is also emboss-cast on the wheel areas. There is a non-original black paint finish on it now. |

Provenance |
The patent date on this "Buffalo Home Trainer" device is January 19, 1886. Last owned by George Dillane McLauchlan of Owen Sound, Grey County (b.1874 - d. 1967). In his youth he was very sports-minded, and he also was involved with the local militia. |
