Description |
One square white cutwork linen doily with alternating flower and leaf yellow embroidery border. Each side has three flowers and two leaves. |
Provenance |
The doily was used in Owen Sound, Ontario by the John and Elizabeth McLean family. Elizabeth McLean died in 1921. Mary McLean (b. 1878) was the last one to use it. Her sister, Grace McLean (b. 1864-d. 1931), did a lot of ornamental embroidery work, so there is a possibility that it was made in Owen Sound? |
