A small framed printed card with an illustration by John Geerts of Markdale. It shows the Owen Sound Bandstand structure, located at Harrison Park, as it looked in 1984. The print is from a detailed black and white ink drawing. There are three park benches in view, as well some pole fencing, and various trees. The back side of the frame has a typescript label with the title provided as "The Bandstand / Owen Sound / Ontario" and an adhesive label with the artist's address. The card is mounted under glass in a mitred light brown wooden frame (with noticeable wood grain). There is a hanging loop screw at the back. There is also a red and white Made in Canada round sticker. |
Makers mark |
The lower right corner of the print has a diagonal signature of J Greets (has an underlined look, and a downward line that almost makes the s seem like a y), above "1984" The J looks like a "M". |
Provenance |
