Woman's sleeveless navy blue flower-printed dress, 1930s. It is a sleeveless, knee or calf-length, slip-over style dress with a yellow / orange/ green/ blue floral print all over. It has a flounce at the front neckline, which is v-shaped. |
Provenance |
An early 20th-century item. The last owner, Bessie Newman, told museum staff that it had belonged to someone in the Witherspoon family (her husband's maternal relations). The Witherspoons had a farm at Jackson, Grey County (west of Owen Sound). Jessie, Anne, Lillian, Maud, Walter, Dave, Jim and Peter were members of the family. |
