Cooper's round shave drawing knives are used by coopers for reaching down inside a cask to level the joints between staves, particularly when the drain is too variable for a stoup plane or inside shave to be used, and also for cleaning hte inside of a cask if it becomes foul. They are also in common use for erasing brands, marks, and painted letters from casks and boxes. |
