Description |
A black-framed collage of a May 1, 1964 Life Membership Certificate issued to Thelma (Mrs. Lloyd) Kuglin, of the Williamsford Women's Institute (Holland Township, Grey County). It was signed by Hazel Davey (President) and Laura Gibbs (Secretary). Inside the frame are six pins that belonged to Mrs. Kuglin. There is a Life Member blue-enamelled pin in the centre. At the left are two Canadian Red Cross Society round lapel pins. One is brass-edged with an enamelled blue annulus and a faded central red cross. The second one is a white and red enamelled brass "WOMEN'S WAR WORK C.R.C.S." pin. At the right side is a small round enamelled pin with "BR" and 4? and it has a crossed dip pen and quill feather logo, with a small ink bottle below it. Then there is a blueand red enamel on silvertone metal CANADIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY BLOOD DONOR SERVICE pin. The last pin is an eight-pointed blue and red enamelled JESUS NEVER FAILS pin. |

In 1964, Thelma Kuglin (b.1905-d. 1985) of the Williamsford branch of the Women's Institute (Holland Township, Grey County), received a life membership certificate and pin. She and her husband Lloyd Kuglin lived in Williamsford, and attended the St. James Lutheran Church. She moved to Owen Sound, Grey County, in the 1970s. Mrs. Kuglin also had particpated in Canadian Red Cross Society work during the Second World War. This collage of her volunteer work membership/service pins was framed by a reletive after her passing. The grouping was last owned by Helen Kuglin (née Batterman) of the RR#2 Chatsworth area of Grey County. |
