Description |
Themometer that advertises McLAUCHLAN'S BISCUITS (of Owen Sound, Ontario). This thermometer is mounted on an aluminum sign-like mount that hangs on the wall. There is red and black printing on the aluminum. The backing piece is rectangular. It has two punched holes near the top edge, which hold a ring each, which is attached to a short hanging chain. The front of the sign has a burnished border all around its perimeter. It has a width of 1.7 cm. There is a shiny border line within it. The sign is worded with "USE / McLAUCHLAN'S / BISCUITS" (the word biscuits is placed over a stylized extension of the first "L" letter of McLauchlan). There is a small-sized, vertically-placed thermometer located on the right side. It has a brass-coloured backing with a decorative burnished edge. It has black numerals and calibrations in a fahrenheit scale ranging from 20 to 130. There is a circular cut-out behind the thermometer bulb (ball-like area). The bulb area is a silver colour as it is a mercury thermometer. |
