Description |
A large rectangular letterpress printing cut, with a cartoon of Captain William F. Owen (depicted with an exaggerated bicorne naval hat and epaulettes) sitting on a round bomb with a lit fuse and being boosted in the air, with the reverse letter wording of "WE'RE BUSTIN' TO BOOST OWEN SOUND." At the upper right area is another smaller cut, which has "CANADA" on a banner and a shield-shaped logo with "LCI." The metal cuts are mounted on a three-piece joinery assembled wooden mount. One of the wooden mount pieces is impress-stamped with a 704 I.P.E.U. mark (elongated diamond-shaped logo). |

Manufactured by I. P.E.U. Unknown artist/designer of the logo. It belonged to the Richardson, Bond & Wright printing company in Owen Sound, Grey County. This business was often referred to as "R-B-W," or "RBW." It was succeeded and last owned the Transcontinental Printing Ltd. |
