Description |
Wooden stereoscope with aluminum visor etched with floral designs and beading along edges. The sliding cross piece is now missing. The handle is designed so that it can bend upwards on a hinge for collapsing it when it is not in use. |

An optical toy or amusement that was usually kept in a household's parlour. It would have a collection of photographic slides (two images per slide). A viewer would place a slide in front of the lenses and the image would be viewed by holding the visor up to one's eyes. |
