Brown lived on the farm where he was born until 1959, when he moved to Thornbury, Grey County. He made many folk art woodcarvings in the 1950s and 1960s. He sold this item to a Mrs. Dinsmore of Collingwood Township, circa 1970. She later gave it as gift to her son, Andrew Dinsmore of Annan, Grey County. Erskine Brown died in 1981, and is buried in Owen Sound's Greenwood Cemetery. |
