Description |
White, rectangular, horizontally oriented lambskin Royal Arch masonic apron with cord and tassel waist ties. Likely the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. There is a triangular brass symbol on the point flap (front), with two pendant brass pieces with a rope twist design for seven. Two address labels are present underneath the flap. They both read "Archie N. MacCuaig P.O. Box 168, Durham, Ontario." The border has a dark red and purple repeated arch design. The underside of the right pendant ribbon has a red-printed "Dominion Regalia Limited Toronto - Canada" maker's mark. |

Provenance |
Manufactured at Toronto by the Dominion Regalia Limited company. Owned/used by Archie Neil MacCuaig of Durham, Grey County. The MacCuaig farm was in Glenelg Township, Grey County. He was a member of the Durham Masonic Lodge #306 and Chapter #221 for 50 years. He was a Worshipful Master and Life Member. The Royal Arch Masons chapter in Durham started in 1920. It, and the others in this accession, were passed down to Norman Robinson of the Edge Hill area of Glenelg Township. Last belonged to Norman's wife, Ruth Anne Robinson (née Hollands), of Kincardine, Ontario. |
