Description |
Folk art carving of a triple horse team hitched to a double harrow. It is made of painted wood. Two horses are brown, with light-brown manes and tails made of hair. They have red eyes, nostrils and mouths, and each has a white stripe on its face. The third horse is black, with a medium-brown mane and a tail made of hair. It has red eyes, mouth and nostrils and a white stripe on its face. The team wear black leather harnesses which attach to the red centre shaft of the harrow. One horse is alone on the left, and the black and brown horses are paired together on the right. The bridles and collars have red yarn attached (dress tack and harness). The reins are made of string and are attached to the two end horses. They meet at the seat of the harrow. The harrow is red, with black details on the rims of the wheels and the tips. There is a lever beside the seat which moves the harrow rakes up and down. The harrow and team of horses are attached to a wooden base, which is varnished a light-brown colour. |
