Description |
Sleeve remnant from a General and Marine Hospital nursing student's uniform. It is made of blue and white striped cotton, with a two-holed, white plastic button at the cuff. |

Provenance |
Manufacturer unknown. Dates to the late 1940s. Belonged to Audrey Isabell Matches (1929 - 2010). She trained as a nurse at the Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital, and graduated in 1951. She did post-graduate work in British Columbia. She worked for a long time at the General and Marine Hospital, and subsequently at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre. Audrey Matches was an Operating Room nurse and retired in 1988. She died on August 15, 2010. The Matches family burials are in Hillcrest Cemetery, in Tara, Bruce County. |
