Description |
A small (7 ounce capacity) green glass bottle that is printed red and white. It was used for Taylor's Dry Ginger Ale. "23036" and a Consumers glass code are moulded on the underside. The back side of the bottle has "Serve Cold / a / Pure Product / of / TAYLOR'S SOFT DRINKS LTD. / IN A STERILIZED BOTTLE / CONTENTS 7 FL. OZ." The neck of the bottle is decorated with two "T" in a circle banner motifs. |
Makers mark |
23036 and a Consumers glass code are moulded on the underside, with a closed square to the left and a zero [1960] to the right of the upright triangle C mark with blunted corners [1962]. The numeral 3 is above the triangle. |
Provenance |
Dates to the early 1960s and it was manufactured by Consumers Glass for the Taylor Soft Drinks Limited bottling company of Owen Sound, Grey County. It was listed as such, at 957 4th Ave. East, in the 1966 Owen Sound telephone directory. The business was sold in 1971. Unknown provenance after it left the factory. Grey Roots Museum purchased it in June, 2019 from the Barrie Antiques Centre. |
