Provenance |
The stoneware bottle was bottled at Edinburgh, Scotland. Owen Sound's potteries did not make stonewares, so businesses had to import items like this. Rick Harrison of Owen Sound, Grey County found this bottle on the "Dr. Knox Farm" situated at the top of the Creamery Hill at Owen Sound, Grey County, in May / June, 1973. It was his opinion that this dump is from the Paterson House Hotel (later called the Downtowner Hotel). This hotel had been located along main street in Owen Sound. |
