Made by Mary Jean Kirkpatrick (née Méyer) before 1921. Mary Jean Kirkpatrick and her family moved to Canada from Zurich, Switzerland in 1903. In the early 1910s, they settled on a farm just outside of the Shallow Lake area of Keppel Township, Grey County. She was born circa 1860. She married William Kirkpatrick of Goring, Markdale, Grey County, and they raised three children at their Goring farm. She finished this item with the help of her daughter, Gertrude Jean Foster (née Kirkpatrick), to whom it subsequently belonged. It was mounted in the 1930s. She resided in Owen Sound. Last owned by Mary's grand-daughter, Patricia Foster of Owen Sound. |
