Pale blue, wrap-around, scrubs-style nurse's dress. It has two deep front pockets, and is machine-stitched with white thread. No maker's label observed. |

Manufacturer unknown. Dates to the 20th-century. Might be a 1960s item? Belonged to Audrey Isabell Matches of Owen Sound, Grey County. She was born on November 5, 1929, to James E. Matches and Zelpha L. Cox of the Park Head area of Keppel Township (RR#1, Shallow Lake). Her father served as Warden of Grey County in 1958. Audrey trained as a nurse at the Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital, graduated in 1951, and did post-graduate work in British Columbia. She worked for a long time at the General and Marine Hospital, and subsequently at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre. She was an Operating Room nurse. She retired in 1988, and died on August 15, 2010. This item was found while her estate was being cleared. |
