Description |
White ironstone ceramic bedpan (also called a douche pan). There is a Grimwades Limited maker's mark present on the underside. The patented bed pan is shaped like a large scoop with a rounded base and smooth, rounded edges. The hole at the top is not exactly circular, but extends down one side. There is a small self handle. Green transfer-printing on the bottom proclaims it to be "The Perfection." |

Made by the Grimwades Limited pottery in England. Provenance unknown. Last owned by sisters, Doris and Marjorie Spragge. Found amongst their estate items. Their family lived on 3rd Ave. East, Owen Sound, Grey County. Their father was an Owen Sound grocer. |
